Friday Sermon - The Prophetic Emigration

All praise to Allah who made the confession of monotheism a protection and fortification for His servants. His is praise, blessing and dominion.

O Allah praise and give peace to our Master Mohammed, his family and pure, righteous companions. Servants of Allah, I exhort you and myself to have taqwa (wariness) of Allah and obedience to Him. And I warn you and myself of rebellion against Him and disobeying His order. There are many significant features for this day.''Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allah) gives you! Truly, Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer.''Allah also says''O you who believe Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, He will give you a double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall walk. And He will forgive you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.''

Servants of Allah, since the dawn of history, prophets had been tortured and been accused of lying and people did not believe in their messages of God. That is why Allah has advised our messenger to be patient''Therefore be patient (O Mohammad) as did the Messengers of strong will and be in no haste about them (disbelievers).''

The Prophetic emigration is an important significance and a great lesson to all generations about patience and devotion to Allah. The Messenger of Allah and his companions have suffered a lot during the early days of Islam. They were patient and coped with every type of torture they have faced, because they had faith in Allah and believed in his messenger. They were strong in the face of polytheists and their beliefs.

The Messenger of Allah may Allah''s peace and blessings be upon him defied polytheists with his behavior. That is how many of them were led to the straight path and followed the beliefs and instructions of the Messenger. These people were blind and refused to listen to the call of the good faith. They have decided to follow the path of Allah who said''Allah is the Wali (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliya (supporters and helpers) are Taghut [false deities and false leaders], they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.''

Allah has wanted the light to spread all over the world to have peace and justice in the hearts of everyone. Brother believers, the prophetic emigration has taught us lots of lessons. It taught us that truth has a home and supporters and falsehood must one day vanish.''And say: "Truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism or this Quran or Jihad against polytheists) has come and Batil (falsehood, i.e. Satan or polytheism) has vanished. Surely Batil is ever bound to vanish.''

Brother believers, The Messenger of Allah may Allah''s peace and blessings be upon him had always been asking people to be merciful and forgetting to have peace between people from different societies and races. Allah says''O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqun (the pious. See V.2:2)]. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.''. On the other hand, Polytheists have been against the messenger of Allah for so long.

Brother in Islam, the Media lately have exposed some Dutch newspapers offending our Messenger and mocked his character in caricatures to offend our Master. These satanic acts are an offense to Islam and all Muslims. Carrying on with such acts is an attack against religions. This act has offended and angered more than one billion Muslims around the globe. Such a behavior had come from those who pretend to be scientists and people who respect the freedom of others.

Brothers of faith, These days we are celebrating the new Hijri year. It had been 1426 since the prophetic Emigration to Al Madeena. Muslims have had a religion that was deep within their hearts and souls. Allah says''So set you (O Mohammad) your face towards the religion (of pure Islamic Monotheism) Hanif (worship none but Allah Alone). Allah''s Fitrah (i.e. Allah''s Islamic Monotheism) with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq-illah (i.e. the religion of Allah - Islamic Monotheism): that is the straight religion, but most of men know not.''

The Messenger carried on his message and the suffering he had faced with his companions did not stop. They have coped with different ways of torture and disbelief. They have asked Allah to get them out of that village and its people who were the reason of their suffering''Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help''

Allah has listened to their prayers and allowed them to emigrate to Al Madeena. Allah blessed his messenger with followers in Al Madeena. Those people believed in the Messenger and Islam in the first and second pledges. Allah says''Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave the Bai‘ah (pledge) to you under the tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquility) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory.''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

Brothers of Faith, the prophetic emigration from Mekka to Al Madeena was not an escape from death or a request for assistance. It was a movement from a corrupted place to a country that has a lot of goodness. Brothers, it is our time to emigrate. It is the time to emigrate from the corrupted believes people have toward peace, love and purity.

I saw this and ask Allah to forgive you and I.
