Princess Haya Centers concluded the activities of "Our Summer is Fun and Useful"

The Management of Princess Haya Bint Al-Husein Islamic Cultural Centers concluded its summer program, for boys and girls, for the year 2010. The program was entitled "Our Summer is Fun and Useful". The program activities began on June 20 and ended in mid-July, in both Centers: Al-Mizhir and Om Al-Sheef. While morning period was allocated for girls, evening period was for boys.
The program included citizens and residents students of public and private schools. The ceremony was held in the Centers' halls. Mona Belhasa, Director of the Centers, said that the objectives of the program were to connect the youth with the Quraan and the pure Sunnah, encourage them to care, protect, safeguard, and apply the Sunnah in their daily lives. The program aimed at:
• Adhering to Islamic values and ethics, among young people;
• Exploring talents and raising their level of confidence;
• Gaining a lot of information in a short time;
• Identifying different aspects of activities and trying them;
• Investing leisure time for the benefit of society;
• Refining talents, developing skills, and instilling the spirit of competition in contests and sports activities;
• Including students in an atmosphere rich in pleasure and benefit; and
• Utilizing leisure time and directing energies towards what is useful in this world and the Hereafter.
She noted that Dubai is full of the cultural movement and advanced society and shall maintain a variety of Islamic culture and is working to revive the heritage and strengthen national identity and to highlight the role of the Arab Islamic civilization. Belhasa added that the activities of the summer program included a session in the Quraan and religious lessons, a session of purity and prayer, a session of sewing, a session in making accessories and handmade creativity, a session in cooking, and introductory course in self-defense. It also included a session in education, lectures, religion, culture, and included a Family Day; for students and parents; horseback riding, swimming, Taekwondo, fun day, and mental workshops.
She noted that the program's activities also included a number of competitions in the modern and cultural and sporting events. Belhasa mentioned that the program was implemented in partnership with third parties: Dubai Municipality, Dubai Events and Trade Promotion, General Headquarters of Dubai Police (Police Academy, Calvary Section of General Department of Criminal Investigation), and Belrumaitha Sports Club.
The Working Team had 31 female associates, working in the Centers, and 47 from outside. She stated that the closing ceremony included a tribute program for providers and collaborators who have been given Certificates of Recognition and financial rewards, as well as a tribute to the winners of the competitions, by giving them money and medals, in addition to gifting some of them watches, medals, and the distinctive student were given sums of money.
