IACAD Honors the Elderly in Al Israa’ Wa Al Mi’raj

Edification and Religious Guidance Department in Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has honored the elderly in its celebration of Al Israa’ Wa Al Mi’raj. This honor was an initiative by the Global Islamic Culture Project (My Islam My Identity) and in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority and Elderly Center in Dubai, and under the patronage of Dar Al Bir Association.
Aisha Al Kash, Head of Edification and Religious Guidance Department, said: “The department shows great consideration towards this category. We have a program in our strategy plan for the elderly. It includes teaching them the Holy Qur’an and getting them involved in the religious occasions.”
Iman Esmaeel Abdullah, chief executive in Religious Guidance Section, supervisor of the project, said: “Dr. Abdul-Hakim Al Anees, supreme researcher in Research Department, talked about the importance of the journey of Al Israa’ Wa Al Mi’raj and the lessons and the values that we should learn from it, and he talked about the significance of this journey to the Prophet (peace be upon him). After that, Sayyed Yousif Al Hashimi, a student participated in the ceremony, delivered a speech on the importance of family solidarity, which our religion advises us to maintain along with respecting adults, particularly parents.
Then, Mohammed Al Kamali, from Iftaa’ Department, asked the audience some questions about Al Israa’ Wa Al Mi’raj. More than twenty persons of the elderly won prizes, some of which were in cash, and 50 employees of the department won cash prizes also.”
At the end of the ceremony, the department honored DHA and Elderly Center for their effort in taking care for the elderly.
