Maktoum’s Holy Qur’an Memorizing Project

Islamic Affair and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai continues conducting the 6th intensive session of Maktoum’s Holy Qur’an Memorizing Project in Al Warqa Grand Masjid in Al Warqa (2). The session has started on the 1st of this month and continues until the 10th of August. The session’s classes are conducted every day from 8:00 am to Maghrib prayer, except on Friday and Saturday.
Sheikh Abdullah Al Kamali, Head of Maktoum’s Holy Qur’an Memorizing Project said that the session contains five sections. The first is of memorizing five portions of the Qur’an, the second is of reciting the whole Qur’an by heart, the third is of the variant readings of the Qur’an (a license in the readings), the forth is of religious texts, while the last section is designed for employees and it is from after Assr prayer to Maghrib prayer.
The session includes activities that are conducted along with the session, such as entertainment activities, trips, a travel for ‘Umrah, religious lessons, and various training courses.
Al Kamali said that Ahmed Abdullah, Head of Communication and Marketing Department; and Yousif Al Hammadi, Chairman of Media Section, have visited Al Warqa Grand Masjid and toured the memorizing circles in the masjid, which are 14 circles that contain 90 students in all sections, to promote the event in the media.
Hamad Al Khazraji, senior executive in the project, reported that Sheikh Saleh Al Talib, Imam and Khateeb of the Holy Mosque of Makkah, had visited the masjid, met the students and the teachers, and delivered a short speech in which he encouraged the student to memorize the Holy Qur’an and talked about the virtue of this deed, and he advised the students to spend their vacation in good activities.
