The Information Technology Department, in coordination with the Human Resources Department in Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, organized a security awareness workshop at the Department's Theater, as part of the Department's strategy of introducing the employees to a safer electronic environment in line with our leaderships’ directions.
Aisha Khalifa Al Muhairi, Head of Human Resources Development section, stressed out the importance of the workshop, which aims to raise the level of public and national awareness regarding the information security among the various organizational units in the Department, through understanding the law.
Moza Al Marzouqi, Information Security Executive, responsible for the Information Security Awareness Project, said that the information security workshop targeted a number of new employees of IACAD, which included several topics such as cyber-attacks, social engineering attacks, and information security incidents reporting. As well as how to avoid suspicious electronic links, how to ensure their integrity, and how to keep information confidential.
Al Marzouqi explained that the security awareness workshop is the first of several awareness workshops that will target the assisting workers in the department, after that all employees from various organizational units, in addition, the companies contracted with IACAD. Also the organizational units responsible for the system ISR, such as the Human Resources Department, the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department, and the Legal Affairs Department. The workshops aim to enable employees to understand the law by knowing how to deal with its terms and conditions, with respect to the information confidentiality.
