Hamad bin Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Tolerance, stressed that the UAE is a pioneer in promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence, and has been based on humanitarian elements and specific pillars since its establishment, which have allowed it to include more than 200 nationalities living side by side in harmony and peace.
Referring to inviting religious sects to an annual joint iftar in the month of Ramadan, he said that the "Dubai Iftar" initiative organized by the department is a platform for cohesion, convergence, tolerance and love, and is a message from the country of tolerant emirates to the world, He pointed out that the initiative is the first of its kind in the Gulf countries and invited all communities, sects and faiths in the Emirate of Dubai to share the Iftar experience at one table within the framework of the Dubai Ramadan 2022 initiative and under the umbrella of human brotherhood.
Al-Shaibani said that through the components of political, economic and media work, each carries an important message to the whole world. It aims to strengthen the visions for the future and agree on things and dates to complete the process of development and giving. He stressed the great and important role of Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture in embracing all ethnicities and religious sects and spreading true and moderate Islamic concepts among the communities living in Dubai.
The Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai praised the approach of the global humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the UAE over many years, especially the creative initiatives that surprised the entire humanity. The most important of them: the meeting in which the Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Pope of the Catholic Church met on the soil of the UAE to sign in Abu Dhabi the most important document of human brotherhood.
Al-Shaibani identified the basic components of collective action through important pillars on which the state rests, namely stability, peaceful coexistence, harmony and communal peace. The UAE is one of the most important factors that contribute to deliver these important messages with honesty and transparency.
He stressed the importance of continuing to work together for security, which in turn leads to friendly relations, respect and human brotherhood. "We may disagree, but we do not part ways. They are all important foundations for joint action and for doing everything possible to strengthen this pioneering culture and enrich the humanitarian work that distinguishes the state." He called on the countries of the world to learn from these rich and inspiring experiences.
