The Dutco group of companies supported the Community Solidarity Fund against Covid-19, which was launched by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, with AED 15 million. It is the second largest contribution after the launch of the fund, to support the efforts in containing the current outbreak of Coronavirus and its repercussions in health, economic and social. On the sidelines of the contribution, Ahmed AbdelRahim Baqer, Chairman of the Dutco Group Board said: "Our leadership has taught us that charity work is an inherent principle in this country, who are providing all forms of support on the local and global wise. Our contribution comes as a matter of national duty and common social responsibility between the public and private sectors to preserve the health and safety of the society.” Baqer stated that each individual has a responsibility at this moment, and this period is difficult, but we are optimistic because of the cooperation between all segments in the society. He stressed that the Emirati experience in containing the virus is a positive one that reflects the highest meanings of social solidarity between both the private and the public sectors. The Chairman of the Group’s Board pointed out that the pressure facing our first line of defense in the health sector is great, and we are certain that the decision-makers are closer to the needs required by determining the priorities and most needed during this period. For his part, His Excellency Dr. Hamad Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shaibani, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, praised the efforts of the private sector and its continuous support to the Fund, stressing that the initiative has provided fruitful communication channels between the private sector and the government departments and organizations, to produce positive results that serve society and the country.
