The Community Solidarity Fund against Covid-19 launched by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department supported the education sector with 6,204 laptop with total cost of AED8 million, in order to back up the efforts of the successful experience of the remote learning under the guidance of the leadership. "The operations of the Fund were divided to improve the quality of life for the most affected people by uniting the efforts towards protecting the health, safety and stability of the country's citizens and residents, as mentioned from the leadership.” Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector. “The launch of the fund was a portal that allowed various parties to perform their national and social roles and responsibilities to support education, Health and providing food to reach the greatest impact of humanitarian aids.” Al Muhairi added. The Executive Director valued the cooperation of Watani Al Emarat Foundation in providing full support to the volunteering team by training them on the necessary precautions and developing their capabilities by integrating them into the Community development process. “More than 16,089 volunteers have participated with 51,204 volunteer hours in various operations by the Fund. The volunteering work carried out by society’s members who have proven their awareness of the challenges, which requires everyone’s responsibility.” Al Muhairi said. The launch of the Community Solidarity Fund against Covid-19 initiative by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable activities Department is part of its commitment to the leadership’s directives to support humanitarian work in Dubai, as it is an umbrella for joint humanitarian works. The Fund aims to establish a partnership with a positive impact between government institutions and charitable associations, to combat the pandemic and its negative impacts on various sectors.
