As part of its mission to foster sound religious understanding and provide moderate, balanced religious guidance, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering accessible and authentic fatwa services. These efforts are aligned with the department’s strategic vision to strengthen religious awareness, promote noble Islamic values, and reflect the UAE's leadership’s vision for 2025 as the “Year of the Community.”

During the first half of 2025, the Fatwa Department issued a total of 134,807 fatwas, including verbal, electronic, and official responses, in addition to consultations provided through in-mosque fatwa gatherings and educational seminars.

The statistics revealed a high level of responsiveness to online inquiries, with the department achieving a 95.12% on-time response rate in the first quarter and 89.13% in the second quarter. This reflects the department’s dedication to timely, accurate, and trustworthy communication with the public.

Commenting on these figures, Dr. Ahmed Al Haddad, Senior Mufti and Director of the Fatwa Department, stated:

"Issuing a fatwa at IACAD is not merely about providing a legal ruling—it’s a moral and educational mission that nurtures peace of mind and enhances religious understanding. We strive to deliver Islamic rulings in a simplified, accessible, and moderate manner—free from extremism or rigidity—while addressing contemporary issues with scholarly depth and clarity."

He emphasized that the success of the fatwa service lies in the public’s trust and their pressing need for a reliable Islamic platform.

“A fatwa is not just an answer; it’s a bridge between religion and life—a tool for promoting harmony, not division; a platform for knowledge, not confusion,” he added.

The department continues to provide fatwa services through multiple channels, including the official website, hotline, in-person consultations, and interactive initiatives. These platforms are designed to bring scholars closer to the community and respond to inquiries with flexibility, confidentiality, and credibility.
