Pulpits Blooming with Knowledge: Dubai’s Islamic Affairs Delivers 45,000 Lessons in 721 Mosques In a landmark achievement reflecting its ongoing commitment to community service, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced the organization of 44,880 religious lessons and lectures during the first half of 2025. These sessions were held across 721 mosques throughout the emirate and benefited over 704,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, emphasized that these figures embody IACAD’s sustained field efforts to promote religious awareness and reinforce the values of moderation and tolerance. He highlighted that these lessons and lectures serve as a cornerstone in achieving the department’s community-oriented goals by disseminating authentic Islamic knowledge and strengthening national identity and Islamic values.
Al Muhairi explained that the lectures were conducted under the framework of the “Nibras” program—one of the key awareness initiatives within the broader “Gheras Al Khair” (Seeds of Goodness) campaign. This pioneering community initiative was endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, with the aim of supporting the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
The program contributes to building a more proactive, effective social support system focused on protection, care, and empowerment. It aims to instill sound societal values in young people and address harmful trends and foreign ideologies through balanced educational approaches that uphold human values and preserve the social fabric—relying on youth awareness as a foundation for stronger, happier families rooted in national identity.
The lessons and lectures cover a wide range of topics including Islamic creed, jurisprudence, behavior, ethics, and everyday dealings. They are delivered in multiple languages using modern and engaging methods that reflect the diversity of Dubai’s population, with special attention given to youth, women, and non-Arabic speakers—demonstrating IACAD’s commitment to inclusivity and outreach in conveying its message.
