As part of the integrated efforts among government institutions of Dubai, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) held a coordination meeting with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to follow up on the implementation of the twinning agreement signed between both parties. The agreement aims to promote Islamic values, strengthen national identity, and enhance the educational environment.
During the meeting, the key outcomes achieved since the signing of the agreement were reviewed, and ways to develop joint educational initiatives were discussed. Among the most prominent initiatives are: “Ghiras Al Khair” (Planting Goodness), “Imam/Muadhin Alfreej,” and the “Ajyal” program. The meeting also addressed support for educational staff and the updating of Islamic education curriculum content in line with current educational developments to enhance the effectiveness of the learning process.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, affirmed that the meeting reflects both parties' commitment to transforming institutional partnerships into practical projects with tangible impact in the field. These efforts aim to build a generation that is proud of its values and identity and aligns with the state's aspirations for promoting sustainable values-based education.
He added that ongoing coordination meetings are a key pillar to ensuring quality implementation and periodic evaluation of initiatives, which will enhance the educational impact in both private and public schools.
For her part, Her Excellency Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of KHDA, said: “We value the positive collaboration with our partners at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, which reflects our shared commitment to continuing to unify our efforts and expertise to achieve the best outcomes for our joint initiatives and to meet the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and Dubai’s Education Strategy 2033. These focus on providing a learning environment that promotes positive values and national identity for all children, especially Emirati children.”
She added: “These regular meetings present an opportunity to share visions and ideas to provide the necessary support for the joint initiatives and programs, ultimately achieving the desired outcomes. We thank all working teams involved in the implementation of the twinning agreement between the two entities, as well as stakeholders in the educational community, for their role in raising religious awareness among the younger generations and instilling values of giving, solidarity, and social responsibility within a supportive educational environment that upholds national identity and the noble teachings of Islam.”
This meeting is part of a series of periodic gatherings aimed at reinforcing integration between educational and religious entities, in line with Dubai’s vision of building a cohesive and connected society that strengthens national identity among students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
