Over 13,500 Service Requests Received by IACAD in Q1 2025

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced that it received over 13,500 service requests during the first quarter of 2025. This milestone reflects IACAD’s ongoing efforts to enhance its religious and community role by delivering high-quality services that cater to the needs of individuals and institutions across the emirate.

Topping the list of most requested services was the personal fatwa service, with the Fatwa Department issuing 3,259 religious rulings, demonstrating the public’s trust in IACAD’s authority and their keenness to receive accurate guidance from reliable sources.

As part of its mission to promote the message of Islam, the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture issued 2,267 certificates of conversion to Islam, reflecting continuous efforts to introduce the religion and its values of tolerance.

In the realm of charitable work, there were 3,241 requests for approval to set up Iftar tents or distribute meals, indicating strong community and institutional engagement in Ramadan initiatives. Additionally, the Charitable Institutions Department processed 541 services related to organizing charitable events, highlighting the growth of this vital sector.

In terms of religious guidance and education, the department received 258 requests for the provision of a mufti, lecturer, or preacher, and organized 297 new Islamic events through its Religious Education and Islamic Institutions departments.

Furthermore, 344 individuals participated in religious and cultural courses and competitions, showcasing strong engagement in IACAD's community awareness programs.

Within the mosque sector, IACAD received 634 requests for Qibla direction determination, 63 in-kind donation requests for mosques, and 22 applications for land allocation for new mosque construction, supporting the expansion of religious infrastructure.

Regarding Islamic institutions services, 11 new licenses were issued, 22 licenses renewed, and 10 requests were made to appoint new staff, reflecting steady growth in this sector.

Hajar Al Suwaidi, Head of Customer Relations, affirmed that these figures reflect IACAD’s commitment to delivering integrated services with high efficiency and quality. She emphasized the department’s dedication to promptly responding to customer needs and enhancing both digital and field services in line with community expectations, contributing to an outstanding customer experience aligned with top government excellence standards.

Al Suwaidi also confirmed that the department will continue expanding its outreach to all segments of society, in pursuit of its vision to lead in religious, charitable, and cultural services across the Emirate of Dubai.
