Speech of His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, on the of the New Hijri Year 1447 AH

We extend our highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court; to their brothers, the esteemed members of the Supreme Council of the Union, the rulers of the Emirates; and to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

We also extend our greetings to the people of the United Arab Emirates, the residents of its land, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the new Hijri year.

The noble Prophet’s migration (Hijra) marks a historic and pivotal turning point in the journey of the call to Islam. It represented the launch of a message that illuminated the world with the values of faith, mercy, and development. Inspired by this great event and on this blessed anniversary, the department renews its pledge to remain a beacon that spreads the light of Islamic values and builds bridges of communication between the eternal message and contemporary society through knowledge and humanitarian initiatives that express the spirit of Islam in its most splendid manifestations.

As we welcome a new Hijri year, we believe that working towards the advancement of humanity and serving society is a continuation of the highest meaning of the Hijra: a migration from ignorance to knowledge, from division to unity, and from stagnation to development.

We pray that this year be filled with good tidings, prosperous achievements, and that our blessed country is granted further progress and empowerment under our leadership.
