Dubai Islamic launches Dubai international Award for charitable work and projects

The charitable projects department in Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department organized a brainstorming session for charities inside and outside Dubai, to discuss the ideas, mechanisms and means to launch the Dubai Award for charitable work and projects.

Abdulla Mohammed Al Khubi, Acting Director of Charity Projects, said, In light of the directives of the Director General of the Department, and the follow up of the Executive Director of the Charitable Sector Mr. Ahmed Al Muhairi. The department organized this intellectual meeting in Dubai Design Hall, among all concerned parties in the charitable work in Dubai, which supervised by the Department.

This brainstorming meeting is to develop plans and to focus on international standards in order to launch the award, based on successful experiences of the local and international participation of the institutions and associations.

Tariq Al-Awadhi, head of the follow-up and development of charitable institutions and projects, said: "We are keen to attract people who are interested in charity work and projects in preparation for the launch of this award next year, and in line with Expo 2020, where Dubai is a center of the world in economics. During the session, the objectives of the award were presented and the emphasis was placed on spreading the spirit of legitimate competition, particularly in quality, planning and implementing charitable projects.

Also, improving the level of institutional performance in charitable work, the best practice locally and internationally, sharing experiences in the light of a sustainable development future, as well as applying the developed charity model, which has enabled Dubai Islamic to develop standards for charitable aid.

The meeting attended by representatives of charities Foundation such as Noor Dubai Foundation, Saleh Al Gurg Charitable Foundation, Dubai Red Crescent, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, Beit Al Khair Association, Dar Al Bar Society in Dubai, Al-Baraka Charitable Foundation, Dubai Charity Association, Emaar Charity Foundation, Al Maktoum Charity Foundation and Dubai Cares.

The Department's team listened to suggestions and opinions of all participants who exchanged views and experiences related to the award launch, in hope of this meeting to be fruitful in order to contribute to the advancement of charity at the local and international levels.
