As part of its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and achieving sustainable development in health, social, and charitable fields, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of Dubai has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation in Dubai, aimed at supporting efforts in the treatment and prevention of addiction and enhancing religious and social awareness for targeted groups.
The memorandum of understanding stipulates the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two parties in the fields of social support and charitable work, the implementation of joint initiatives and programs that contribute to the development of the treatment and rehabilitation system, support community prevention efforts, as well as the organization of awareness campaigns, exhibitions, and events through various media and social platforms affiliated with the department.
The memorandum was signed during the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2025), in the presence of several senior officials from both parties. It was signed on behalf of IACAD by Mohammed Musabeh Ali Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector, and on behalf of the Erada Center by Abdul Razzaq Amiri, Executive Director of the Center. Mohammed Musabeh Ali Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of Dubai, emphasized that the signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of achieving the department’s institutional strategy objectives "Closer to the Community," through supporting various community initiatives based on its societal role. This is done by coordinating efforts with various official entities to contribute to protecting youth and enhancing their mental and social health.
He also pointed out that IACAD, through this memorandum, works to enhance efforts to combat the scourge of addiction at the level of the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE, adding that all its resources, awareness platforms, and community initiatives will be harnessed to serve the targeted groups, thereby enhancing religious and social awareness and supporting the creation of a more cohesive and stable society, in support of Dubai's Social Agenda 33.
On his part, Abdul Razzaq Amiri, Executive Director of the Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation in Dubai, said: "The signing of the agreement reflects our deep commitment to enhancing integration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, to establish a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program based on best international practices, in line with community needs."
He added, "We believe that prevention and religious and social awareness are fundamental pillars in the journey of addiction treatment. Therefore, the Erada Center is keen on launching sustainable initiatives targeting youth and families to build a more cohesive and healthy society." He further noted that such cooperation activates the center's role and its efforts to support Dubai's Social Vision (33) by providing psychological and social support to those in need of assistance and their families, empowering them to face future challenges
